The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, and youth employment standards for full-time and part-time workers in the private sector as well as in federal, state, and local governments. There are regulations covering overtime pay after 40 hours of work in each workweek, and some exemptions from these standards.
